New Healthy Morning Routine Changes My Life!!(Nutrition&wellness)

I have recently started waking up at 5:30 am to have a little extra me time to enjoy the morning and get a good start to the day. I believe that following a routine like this or similar to this can really have a positive impact on your life. I'm going to walk you through my daily routine and hopefully you will get something valuable from it. Then at the end I will conclude with what I believe to be some key points. Before I tell you my 5:30 am morning routine you need to know what I do before I wake up, so basically you get a two-for-one, a nighttime routine and a super awesome early morning routine. Let's go to last night. So I usually eat dinner around 5:00 pm because I'm so hungry after a long day at work and a good workout. I made Honey Garlic Salmon with Brussel Sprouts sauteed in olive oil. After that I call Mom, and we usually talk for a little. Loved ones can be great motivators. Then I lay out my workout clothes to change into after I shower tomorrow. After that I'm off to bed. I set my alarm clock to 5:30 a.m. and turn snooze off because I don't want to get in the habit of hitting snooze every morning. Now, I find it extremely beneficial to read at least a half-hour before bed. It really helps me wind down, and just relax. Also, It's good for the brain. Right now I am enjoying one of my favorite books of all time, Wuthering Heights. I must have read it like 50 times, I just love it. Usually after a few chapters I can barely hold my eyes open. I try to go to bed around 10 pm. You should always try to get at least 7-10 hours sleep.

In the morning I turn my alarm off and make my bed as usual. I shower, get dressed and get to the kitchen for my favorite part of the day, breakfast. Breakfast is usually where I take in most of my carbs for the day. This morning I'm having a smoothie. Most of the time I rotate between just three breakfast meals. Cereal(whole grain usually honey bunches of oats), Oatmeal(steel cut) and my favorite, a smoothie which I probably have for breakfast about 300 out of 365 days a year. It's great because you can jam pack it with nutrients. This morning I put in frozen Greek yogurt, coconut almond milk, raspberries, blackberries, granola with almonds and then I always add a super food powder(and sometimes after a workout I'll make one with protein powder). I use Neuroactive6 because I love things that improve brain health and this acually makes me feel energized, motivated & alert. It contains powerful Polyphenols which Increase mental focus & recall-speed. One of its added benefits, because of some of its ingredients and its ability to improve energy, is it doubles as a weight loss supplement. If you want to check it out I'll leave a link below.

I always make sure to drink a ton of water because I want to stay hydrated for my Yoga at 6:30 am, and also it is good to get in the habit of drinking at least 64 ounces of water a day. The Journal of Biological Chemistry 158 states that, 73% of the heart and brain is water, the lungs are about 83% , The skin 64%, kidneys and muscles are 79%, and even the bones are 31% which means about 65% of the human body is water. Sheesh no wonder water is so important.

Okay so after all that, with whatever time I have left, I'll sit in a little closet that I turned into my own private quiet room and meditate til It's time to leave for yoga. I only actually go to a yoga center twice a week, every other day I do my routine at home.

While I'm driving I like to prepare for the rest of the day and just get my thoughts together. I know it doesn't seem like much but to me this is really important because it helps me get a head start on what the day will bring. Little things like this really helped me grow. A strong brain is essential to a happy and healthy lifestyle. Always remember to stop and take mental inventory a couple times a day. Even if it's just a few seconds(Tip:If you have trouble remembering to do this just set three small reminders on your phone to go off throughout the day). After yoga I change out of my sweaty clothes and take a shower(my yoga class has a shower but not all places do).

I love working out in the morning, afterwards you always feel so energized and alive. I really encourage you guys to just try and make more time for yourself. I was a very rushed and impatient person. My life was on fast forward and I wasn't living. I couldn't live like that anymore. Now I take my time with everything, breathe and focus. I also started going in to work just 15 minutes earlier about a week into my new routine. Then after just two weeks my boss promoted me(LOL no joke). I know I make this sound like a cure-all but the success Is not from just setting my alarm an hour or two earlier every morning it comes from wanting It. All my articles and videos about success and health and wellness all have me repeating one thing, you got to want it. And you don't just say it, you know in your heart you can be better. Life is beautiful and we have the potential to squeeze out every bit of sweet nectar out of it.

5 Key Points on a Good Early Morning Routine:

  • A good morning starts with a good night

  • Make sure your alarm is set

  • A good breakfast is crucial

  • Exercise at least 20 minutes a day
